how to join

Membership Year

The ATRA membership year runs from 1 July to 30 June each year.

Participation at all ATRA events requires competitors to be either a Financial Member or an Event Member of the ATRA.

To be eligible to receive Regional and National Points, competitors must be a Full Financial Member at the time of the event.
👉 Event Members do not accumulate points.

Insurance

All ATRA memberships include Personal Accident Insurance.
Ambulance cover is NOT included, therefore ATRA strongly recommends members maintain their own ambulance cover.

Full Membership

Full Membership is effective from the date of payment and expires on 30 June each year.

  • Senior Membership – $198

  • Junior Membership (8–17 years) – $99
    (Must not turn 18 before 30 June of the current membership year)

  • Tiny Tots Membership – FREE
    (Children under 8 years competing in the 7 & Under Barrel Race – must not turn 8 before 30 June)

  • Veteran Membership – $88 (DV Card required)

  • Lifetime Membership – $150 (one-off fee)
    (Available to members aged 70 years or older)

  • Honorary Membership
    (May be bestowed by the Board on individuals deserving recognition by the Association)

EVENT/Clinic Membership

Event/Clinic Membership applies to an individual event or clinic, run on one or multiple consecutive days.
This membership is only available through your ATRA Promoter.

Event (Jackpot) Day Membership

  • Senior – $44

  • Junior – $22 (Juniors aged 8–17 years)

Clinic / School Day Membership

  • Senior – $20

  • Junior – $10  (Juniors aged 8–17 years)

Contact the ATRA Promoter for a copy of the Event/Clinic Membership Form. Payment is to be made directly to the Promoter on the day, not to Head Office.

PLEASE NOTE: To be eligible for an appeal, roper’s must meet one of the following requirements: (a) Performance profile suggests the roper is struggling to compete, (b) No current performance data on file and/or (c) Ropers with medical conditions that affect their ability to compete (must provide medical records and a doctor’s release). If an appeal is granted to lower a roper’s classification and the result of doing so allows the roper to become dominant, the ATRA retains the right to immediately return the roper to the previous classification. The first appeal is free, however, a $20 appeal fee, must accompany each additional request for an appeal in a calendar year. This form will be actioned within 14 days of submission and you will be notified via your above contact details of the outcome.
